OUR APPROACH

A good story begins with someone who listens.

Share the memories. We guide the conversations, shape the chapters, research their setting, and help your family bring a life story into print.

PERSONAL FROM THE FIRST VISIT

A familiar face. A thoughtful question. Time to remember.

Kim personally leads every visit. We listen for the small details, follow the unexpected turns, and make room for the stories that take a little time to tell.

In-person visits are arranged around your location. Travel costs are quoted separately and agreed upon before booking.

THE ART OF LISTENING

The most meaningful question may be the one we didn’t plan to ask.

A laugh changes the direction of a conversation. A voice softens at the mention of a name. An almost-forgotten detail opens the door to a story no one in the family has heard.

Our conversations are personally led by Kim, with room to follow those moments. We ask thoughtful follow-up questions, explore what feels especially meaningful, and let your loved one’s comfort and curiosity guide the pace.

That attention carries into the writing. We preserve the humor, tenderness, pride, and personality your loved one shares, alongside the events they remember. Together with historical context and carefully chosen imagery, those details give future generations a fuller sense of the person behind the story.

WHAT YOUR FAMILY IS ENTRUSTING TO US

Care for the whole story.

Your investment covers the time and attention needed to turn conversations into a connected, carefully reviewed book.

Personal attention

Kim prepares for every visit, listens closely, and follows up on the details that give a memory its meaning.

A world brought back

Research establishes the time and place of every chapter, helping readers understand the community and era surrounding the life.

Editorial care

We organize the material, develop the narrative, and guide family review so the finished story feels connected and personal.

FROM THE FIRST CONVERSATION TO THE FINISHED BOOK

A clear path. A pace that feels personal.

01

Begin with the person.

We talk about whose story you want to preserve, what matters most to your family, and which collection fits. Together, we agree on the scope, participants, visit arrangements, and any travel costs.

02

Make room for the memories.

Kim personally leads the visits. We follow an unexpected recollection, ask for the detail that brings a scene into focus, and make room for laughter or emotion. Photographs and familiar objects can help memories unfold. You can pause, take a break, or leave a subject for another day.

03

Build the chapters and their world.

We organize the conversations into a connected narrative and research the relevant time and place for each chapter. Historical sources establish the setting; the storyteller’s own memories provide the personal experience.

04

Read it together.

Your family reviews the draft within the review rounds included in your collection. This is the time to check names and relationships, clarify memories, and tell us where a passage needs care.

05

Bring the story home.

After your family approves the final manuscript and book layout, we prepare the hardcover edition. The recordings, transcript, and finished manuscript are included in your private digital archive.

YOUR PART IN THE STORY

Bring what you have.

A few photographs. A name you want remembered. A story you have heard a hundred times. You can begin with those small pieces and gather more as we go.

Your family shares memories, helps identify people and dates, and reviews the draft. You do not need to arrive with a finished outline or a written manuscript.

OUR PART IN THE MAKING

We help it take shape.

We guide the interviews, organize the material, research the historical setting, develop and edit the narrative, and coordinate the book layout and included review rounds.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Questions families ask.

How is this different from a self-guided memoir service?

Kim guides a living conversation, responding to what your loved one shares. She can ask an unplanned follow-up question, return to a memory that needs more detail, or explore something especially meaningful to them. That personal attention continues through research, narrative development, editing, family review, and book preparation.

Do we need to write anything?

No manuscript is required. Your loved one can share their memories in conversation. Your family can also contribute photographs, letters, and written recollections, and will be invited to review the draft.

Can I arrange this as a gift?

Yes. Begin by telling us whom you would like to celebrate. We will discuss the experience with you and arrange participation with the storyteller so the visits feel welcome and comfortable.

Will the visits happen in person?

In-person visits are our preferred approach. Kim personally conducts every visit, with the location and scheduling agreed before booking. Any travel costs are quoted separately.

How long will our book take?

The schedule depends on the collection, availability for visits, research needs, and how quickly the family can review drafts. We will agree on a project schedule before work begins. If you have a birthday or other occasion in mind, mention it in your inquiry.

How do you use technology?

Transcription and drafting tools may support the work. Kim personally leads the conversations, responds to the storyteller, checks the historical context, and reviews and edits the writing. Your family reviews the manuscript before it is finalized.

What if a memory is uncertain or too personal to include?

You choose what to share. We flag uncertain details and discuss how to present them honestly. During the included review rounds, you can identify passages to clarify, revise, or leave out.

BEGIN WITH A CONVERSATION

Who comes to mind?

Tell us who you would like to celebrate. We’ll talk through the story, answer your questions, and help you choose an experience that fits your family.

You don’t need a complete timeline, a box of sorted photographs, or the perfect words to begin.

Thank you. Your inquiry has been received. We look forward to hearing about the story you have in mind.
Your inquiry could not be sent. Please try again.

A name or relationship is enough for now. Please save personal family stories and documents for your conversation with us.
